The Friends of the Wilson County Public Library is a public charity organization which promotes the use of the library. Members raise money for a variety of library-related programs and needs which are not met through traditional county government funding. For example, the Friends installed a state-of-the-art sound system in the large assembly room at the main library. This room is in constant use by the library for its programs and also serves as a meeting space for various civic and community groups.

WANT TO HELP YOUR LIBRARY BUY NEW BOOKS??

You can help the Library recover from budget cuts to its "New Book Purchases" category for the upcoming year.  Please donate your books (particularly current bestsellers), CDs, DVDs, and puzzles to the library after you are done with them. (Certain magazines are also accepted; please check with library staff.)

Be sure to visit the revolving book sale which is located at the foot of the stairs in the main library.  The book and media sale is open during regular library hours and proceeds are used to purchase new books, magazines, and AV materials.
